Sepiolite

Sepiolite, known previously as Meerschaum or Sea Froth, is a naturally occurring, non-swelling, lightweight, porous clay with a large specific surface area. The high surface area and porosity of this clay accounts for its outstanding absorption capacity for liquids. A very uncommon clay, there are only a few commercial deposits and most of them are located in Spain and, mainly in Eskişehir, Turkey.

Its properties make it a valuable material for a wide range of applications:

  • pet litters

  • animal feed additives

  • moisture & noise isolation

  • carriers for chemicals

  • industrial spillage absorbents

  • rheological additives

  • waste treatment

  • polymer biodegradable fillers

MADKIM offers Ground-Crushed-Lumpy Technical-Industrial-Cat Litter Grades of Sepiolite to international markets obtained from its own quarries located in Doğanoğlu, Eskişehir, Turkey.
